Bandai Namco Server Hacking Discovery situation, possibility of leaking customer information
On the 13th, Bandai Namco Holdings reported on the official website that he found a third-party server invasion.
On July 3, Bandai Namco Holdings confirmed the situation in which an unauthorized third party invaded the company's internal system in Asia, excluding Japan. Bandai Namko said that as soon as he found it, he blocked the approach to prevent the spread of damage.
Bandai Namco explained that this incident may have leaked toy business information and customer information in Asia, excluding Japan. Bandai Namco is currently investigating the exact cause and damage of the leakage, and said, I apologize for worrying and lung.
It is not officially confirmed, but this hack seems to have been carried out by a ransomware group. According to foreign media, a ransomware group claimed that they had hacked the server before the official announcement of Banda's Namco. They are known to have asked for a ransom for the current data.
This is not the first time to hack a large game distributor. In November 2022, Japan's large game company Capcom suffered great damage due to the leak of 1TB of internal data. At that time, the hackingist asked Capcom to negotiate with Bitcoin, and when Capcom refused, large amounts of data were distributed to the Internet.
